“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive -
to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.”

~ Marcus Aurelius

Do this first thing everyday.

Appreciate.

It’ll be a great day for you and all you interact with.

“Drag your thoughts away from your troubles… by the ears, by the heels, or any other way you can manage it.”

~ Mark Twain

Are you aware that you empower whatever you focus on? Whether you like it or not, your attention feeds it. Once you grasp this truth, you’ll be far more discerning with your thoughts and imagination.

Just so you don’t forget, here it is another way: Your attention is the seat of your power. Go put it to work for you and make it a wonderful day!

“I had also suffered a brain aneurysm. A life-threatening event of this nature shatters ones faith and trust in one’s body. During my very first Bikram class I immediately recognized the power of the corrective training effect in the systematic and repetitious nature of the practice.”

~ Emmy Cleaves, Principal of Bikram’s Yoga College of India Headquarters

Systematic, repetitious, challenging… this is what makes Bikram Yoga so powerful and effective at creating change for the better.

It doesn’t matter whether your issue is mental, emotional, physical, or all of these together, the Bikram formula works everything simultaneously. With a regular, dedicated practice you notice how limitations fall away and nothing seems impossible any longer.

Yes, it’s hard, but you’re worth it.

“I was told to challenge every spiritual teacher, every world leader to utter the one sentence that no religion, no political party, and no nation on the face of the earth will dare utter: Ours is not a better way, ours is merely another way.”

~ Neale Donald Walsch, author of Conversations with God

Oh my! Could you imagine what the world would be like if only its leaders could do this? The shift from self-righteousness to tolerance would be such a relief!

Leaders come in all different shapes and sizes and professions and personalities. Why not put on your leader hat and challenge yourself and others in this way? What a gift you’d be giving to the world!

“If faith in ourselves had been more extensively taught and practiced, I am sure a very large portion of the evils and miseries that we have would have vanished.”

~ Swami Vivekananda

Have you noticed how when you’re happy things tend to go well? Without even realizing it, you see the best in everyone and everything around you. In fact, you bring out the best in all.

Faith says, “All’s right with me and all’s right with the world.” Can you see how faith leads to happiness?

As the Aussie’s say, “No worries!”

“The tribune of humanity is in its silent heart, never its talkative mind.”

~ Kahlil Gibran

When life is tormenting you, take refuge in your heart. Relief is awaiting within, all it requires is your presence.

Your heart is your ever-present, instant reprieve.

“The man who has no imagination has no wings.”

~ Muhammad Ali

The only limits to your imagination, are those you set yourself. So beware, just as it can take you to the peaks of the highest mountains it can also take you into the depths of dark, dangerous caves.

Direct it as you choose — just make sure it feels good.

“The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched – they must be felt with the heart.”

~ Helen Keller

Never be limited by your physical senses. They can only inform you of what’s outside of you. Your heart reflects the deepest essence of your experience.

Always be conscious of what’s inside of you. Someday you’ll recognize it as both the alpha and the omega.

“Again and again I tell you what you must gain to be successful, not only in the Yoga but in all of the life. To have worked the little miracles you have already worked in Yoga, you have already gained little bit self-discipline, determination, and concentration, or you would be in same condition you were when you first started class. But what happen to faith and patience? How you can stand there and tell me it is impossible for you to someday do Full Bow like Barbie? You cannot see what you have already achieved?”

Excerpted from the book Bikram’s Beginning Yoga Class by Bikram Choudhury

Patience and faith, my friend, are just as important as discipline, concentration, and determination in your mastery of life.

Like a beacon, they’re there to make sure you never lose sight of your dreams.

“It is said that the present is pregnant with the future.”

~ Voltaire

But of course it is! Look back and you’ll see the pattern of conception–gestation–manifestation reflected in every aspect of your life.

The whole process may take minutes or decades (sometimes detours are necessary) but your future is constantly in the making.

What’s next for you?
