“When we take ownership for a problem and accept responsibility for our outcomes, we become agents of change as opposed to victims of change. When we resist the temptation to blame others or make excuses, we become part of the solution, not the problem.”
~ John J. Murphy, Pulling Together
Blame and victimhood go hand in hand down the road called unhappiness. Have you noticed? But, you know, my friend, problems and mistakes aren’t all bad. They’re opportunities to grow or find a better way.
Just know that dwelling on the problem will not bring about the solution. The frame of mind that uncovers a problem is very different from the frame of mind that uncovers a solution.
So next time you’re confronting a problem, take a deep breath and relax. You have to shift from problem mode to solution mode or tension will keep the solution at bay.
