Belkis McCluskey
Belkis was born and raised in Venezuela. She moved with her husband and daughter from Chicago about 5 years ago to Austin and see it as one of the best decisions they’ve made as a family. They love Texas and feel grateful to be living in Bee Caves.
When it came to fitness, her father was one of her strongest influences. He always loved running and lifting weights. When she was 15 he invited her to join him for a run for the first time and he started running and never looked back. She couldn’t keep up with him and has never forgotten how amazed she was with his endurance and strength. It taught her to believe in herself and she knew she would be like him some day.
His passion became her passion. Today, her father is 80 years old and he still lifts and runs nearly every day. She may not have kept up with her father that first day but she’s followed his example in all her 50 years.
She’s competed in NPC (National Physique Committee) competitions, done Spartans, Crossfit, Pilates, Yoga, Hot Yoga and is in training to teach BeneFIT’s Burst Fix classes at the studio. She’s excited to teach others the workout routines that she’s found work best for her to create the physique she wants without injuries or other issues. Her workouts focus on connecting your mind with your muscles utilizing proper form, low impact and high intensity because, as she says, “when you focus your mind, you get results.”
“I believe we are here for a reason, to find our passion, to develop and to help others. Where there’s a will there’s a way. My motto is “Keep Moving!”
