“When humility enters our souls, we are at last able to perceive that we do not live alone in this world but with millions of brothers and sisters, and that hidden in the heart of each is the same animating spirit.”
~ Uell Stanley Anderson
What does it take for us to find humility? For our walls of protection and pride to come down?
I wonder if it’s a matter of feeling safe. Do we need to feel safe and secure enough that the level of criticism, punishment or harsh judgments won’t be too much for us to handle? Do we believe that we have to be perfect (something impossible) to be accepted?
Well, one thing is for sure. Simply by virtue of the fact that that same animating spirit in all of us is in us makes us each worthy of love, imperfections and all.
Did you know, my friend, that by honoring and acknowledging that animating spirit at the heart of each person you come across or even think of you bring more of it to the surface? Not just in them, my friend, but in yourself as well. Try it.
