“It usually takes some experience to grasp the absolute futility of the mindset that clings to right versus wrong, good guys versus bad guys. (It’s just impossible to get the bad guys to agree that they are indeed the bad guys!) Eventually you learn to get out of the argument. At the heart level, the argument doesn’t hold as much interest as the solution. You start moving to synthesis thinking, leading to a solution-based orientation to life. Conflicts begin to disappear as you have less and less interest in defending unimportant positions and more and more interest in residing in your heart.”
~ David Pond, The Pursuit of Happiness
Every aspect of life is better when you reside in your heart, my friend. Not only do you no longer feel the need to be right, you appreciate diversity for what it is (different), you can be relaxed and at ease with life, and you experience the blessings of love and connection.
What does it take to reside in your heart? It takes getting out of your head. It takes turning off the critic and the analyzer and monkey mind and instead accepting and appreciating what is.
Hmmm… maybe that’s why BeneFIT’s Yoga makes us feel so good.
See ya in class!
