“A man cannot be comfortable without his own approval.”
~ Mark Twain
There is nothing more damaging than a negative self judgement, my friend. It is a sure sign of being out of alignment with your higher self and all that is good in life. We have to approve of ourselves — to like who we are — in order to feel good.
We are all human beings and of course we’ll make mistakes. But mistakes are not corrected through punishment, including the negative self judgement type of punishment. If you’ve made a mistake or don’t feel good about something, then do something to turn it around. Apologize, make amends if necessary, and above all forgive yourself.
No atonement (a.k.a. at-one-ment or alignment with your Higher Self) is complete without forgiveness. If you’d known better, or were truly aligned with your higher self, you wouldn’t have done it. Right? All of us are simply doing the best we can with what we have from where we are in every given moment.
Forgive, my friend, yourself and others. Comfort awaits.
